The liqueurs
In keeping with the old tradition, our liqueur is created through “infusion”.
This means that the fruit – chopped up or whole – is
steeped in alcohol. Industrially produced, lesser-quality “foreign” alcohol
is never used for these liqueurs. We use only schnapps from our
own distillery that is appropriate to the particular fruit. This
distillate serves to leach out the juice and aroma from the fresh
fruit. The liquid extracted in this way contains the natural colour,
flavour and sweetness of the steeped fruit. This means we can totally
forgo the addition of artificial aromas and colouring, making this
a completely natural product. We also like to exercise restraint
with the addition of sugar, since the sweetness desirable in a
liqueur comes largely from the high fruit content. Liqueurs of
this high quality are a pure pleasure enjoyed straight, but they
are also a superb ingredient for fine long drinks and fruit desserts.
